Want to see your Chiro less but still feel great?

Want to see your chiropractor less??

I mean I know that you love to see us, but if you could in a little less, and still feel fabulous, would you want that?

At Bespoke we love helping you to get moving and feeling your best, and we want that to happen as fast as we can! So, I want to talk about things that you can do at home to compliment the treatments you have with us! Here are some things that you can do at home to see us, your chiropractor, less!

First tip…. STAY HYDRATED

Our bodies need water- in fact 60-70% of the human body is made up of water. That’s pretty cool! Water is needed for the discs in your spine, your muscles to perform at optimal function, your brain and nervous system to send messages to the entire body! It is also involved in digestive processes, as well as helping remove waste from your body. The bigger you are, the more water you need. Everyone is different! Aim for at least 2L per day, but if you are still finding that you are thirsty, add a little more! And add more with exercise!

Second Tip …. SLEEP & REST YOUR BODY AND MIND

Getting a good night sleep is so important for many different reasons. The body needs consistent rest and sleep so it can function the best it can. With consistent rest and sleep this can improve digestion, immunity, brain function, energy production, stress levels, heart health, muscle and joint repair. Sleep is important to support the body with everything we do! Adults need about 8 hours a night….5-6 hours will not cut it and allow your body to heal and function at its best!

Some quick tips are to sleep in a dark room, and turn lights on (open the blinds) when you get up. Avoid screens before bed, have a warm shower and stretch to switch off. Do some deep breathing or meditation. Trouble shutting off your mind? Have a pen and paper by your bed so that you can write down anything, get it out your head and focus on sleep.

Third Tip……STRETCHING & EXERCISE

We all know the benefits of regular physical activity. During a treatment with us at Bespoke we will often provide stretches or a take home exercise that will benefit and maintain results in between treatments! Stretching helps prevent injury, keeps the muscles flexible and keeps the joints moving as they normally would. Stretching is as important as exercising! Remember that movement is medicine. Move your body and spine. Find 30. 10000 steps per day. Hit the gym or go for a swim. Whatever way you do it, move your body. This also means regular breaks from your desk during the day, or stretch whilst there if you cant leave. Ask us for some ideas if you need

Fourth tip….. DECREASE (OR MANAGE) YOUR STRESS

We all lead busy lives trying to maintain a work life balance!  Prolonged stress can have an impact on us physically and emotionally, and make us not function as well as we should or could. I see it all the time in the clinic, people who don’t think they are stressed, but soon realise they are and that it is having a massive impact on their health. In between treatments there are a couple of things that you can try to decrease stress. Proven and great ways to bring the heart rate down and decrease stress levels are deep breathing exercises, yoga or regular physical activity as well as meditation. It can be as simple as deep breathing at your desk for 5 minutes, or walking outside barefoot in the grass. Do things you love and make you feel good. Also planning goes a long way to decrease daily and weekly stress! The first step is recognising you may be stressed and then putting a plan in place to decrease it! Chat to us about ideas for you!

So there are some simple things you can do to help you body and mind between adjustments, and then have to see us less!

I am also be running de stress and stretch workshops this month, if you would like to come along and learn more! Please visit our Facebook page for more details or send us a message and we will give you the details.
