Unlocking the Secrets of Chiropractic Care: Beyond the Myths and Crackling Misconceptions
Here are some of the most frequently asked questions that we get
What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a healthcare profession involved in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of musculoskeletal problems.
As chiropractors we use chiropractic adjustments to restore alignment and motion to the joints of the spine.
Chiropractic is safe & non-invasive giving the body encouragement to heal itself.
Is it just about cracking your back?
Not at all! Chiropractors utilise a range of techniques to adjust the spine. Here at Bespoke Chiropractic Manning we do manual adjustments (these are the ones that may produce a “crack” which is a release of gas from the joint), use a drop piece and an activator. We also do Neuro Emotional Technique (NET) and Neurolink.
Who needs it?
Everything with a spine can benefit from chiropractic. Did you know that there are chiropractors trained in techniques specifically to treat animals?
How can I benefit from it?
Correcting imbalances & ensuring proper spinal alignment allows more normal motion and function of the spine, which may improve mobility, flexibility and endurance. In the long run it may allow you to avoid pain and discomfort and may also reduce your risk of injury.
Will you walk on my back?
Don’t laugh! With all the content on social media nowadays there are some pretty jaw dropping videos of people having all sorts of interesting “adjustments” including having their backs walked on. Sorry to disappoint you but that is not chiropractic and no we won’t walk on your back!
How often do I need to come in?
This all depends on you! Everybody’s body heals differently sometimes faster and sometimes it takes a little bit longer. Initially your visits may be closer together but as your body stabilises and your spine begins to have more normal motion, your function improves and your visits become less frequent.
Each adjustment builds on the previous one and we will often give you homework (think stretching, exercises and other healing tips) which all helps your body to become stronger. The more you follow our recommendations and do your “homework” the less you will need to have to come it and see us!
