Winter is usually a time for comforting, stodgy foods but now is the time all the different coloured fruits and vegetables come into season. Eating a rainbow of colours allows you to enjoy different nutrients and getting seasonally available produce means its fresher and tastes great.
With the warmer weather it’s time to start moving. You can vary your routine by heading outside for some fresh air and sunshine. Exposure to sunshine makes us feel good by boosting serotonin levels, your “happy hormone” and increasing Vitamin D synthesis. If you need motivation how about joining a community group, there are walking, running, cycling, triathlon, swimming and lots of other groups that promote fitness. Joining a group not only makes you accountable to show up but has the added benefit of creating new social connections.
